[ And Shigeru will gently close the door behind him as he steps inside. He'll take off his shoes, since he knows that's a customary thing that Hana and Genji do when he's come over before. The small garden in the room is cute and Shigeru will smile happily looking at it while Genji goes to get that cider. ]

Your little garden is really beautiful.

[ That gets an almost bashful little smile out of Genji, and he rubs a hand behind his neck. ] Thank you. I admit, I went a little overboard when we first moved in and realized I had expendable income...

[ He goes to get the cider out of the fridge and grabs a pot to start to warm it on the stove. ] Back home, I lived a very nomadic life so I couldn't really have this sort of thing. And the home I do have is up in some cold mountains. [ A laugh. ]

[ Shigeru looks back at Genji with a curious glance. He's actually never really heard much about Genji's life back home. He smiles warmly as he remembers his own home and the snow and how he'd watch from his window. ]

Where did you travel to back home? You must have saw a lot of amazing things. This was...after your time in Overwatch I assume?

[ He might lightly touch one of the leaves of the plants, ah, this really makes him want to draw this. But maybe another time. ]

[ Genji is just so used to being private... and his past is a rather messy affair. Especially after the memory sharving fiasco of a few months ago, Genji needed some time to keep his past a little private again. ]

Yes, I wandered the world after I left Overwatch. Trying to find myself, honestly, although I didn't realize it at the time. [ He grabs a ladle for the cider and twirls it in his hands. ] I ended up in a country called Nepal eventually, and that's where I ran into my master. And I found myself again.

[ It's obvious by the tone of his voice that he misses Zenyatta. He doesn't feel quite as lost as he did in the first few months, but there's just so much he could tell him now... and he wants Shigeru to meet him. (He's already prepared himself for Zenyatta's special brand of teasing.) ]

[ Ah. Shigeru's only heard brief things about Genji's master. But he honestly wishes he could meet him here. ]

I wish I could meet him, your master I mean. I wish I could tell him thank you for helping you.

[ Shigeru will lightly touch Genji's cheek there and then. His face is flushed a little as he does so. He'll pull his hand away sheepishly, a shy little smile touching his lips. He figures that without Zenyatta's help Genji might not even be here?! But he's really glad he is, otherwise Shigeru never would have met him. ]

Is he like you too?

[ Genji turns to him, mouth dropping open just slightly in awe as Shigeru touches his cheek. Color floods Genji's cheekbones and he huffs a little laugh, looking down for a moment. ]

You always say things that knock the wind out of me. [ He reaches out to cup Shigeru's face in return, then trailing his hand back to run his fingers though his hair. ] I am always so tongue tied around you.

[ He turns back to the cider. ] A cyborg, you mean? No. He's an Omnic.

[ Oh no he's sorry?! He made Genji blush so hard, he's smiling happily though as he leans into Genji's own touch.

He'll let out a soft huff akin to laughter. ]

I'm sorry! I...I didn't mean to make you awkward. I...I tend to just type whatever comes to mind.

[ He has no hand to phone filter, he's sorry! ]

Oh. I see. I hope people don't...treat him badly because of it. Your world and omnics...people don't get along with them, right? But the way you speak of him...he must be very kind.

[ That makes Genji grin. ] There is absolutely nothing you have to apologize for. I wouldn't have it any other way. [ Aka that's one of the many reasons he fell in love with you.

But Genji nods solemnly. ] It can be hard, but my master handles everything gracefully. And he is very kind... [ He chuckles a little. ] So kind that it made me angry when I first met him. I didn't want to listen. But Tekharta Zenyatta is nothing if infinitely patient with people he wants to help.

[ Shigeru will blush a little as he looks away momentarily. His own smile sheepish and shy. ]

He sounds like an amazing person. I really wish he was here. [ Shigeru would love to just talk with the other. ]

You had gone through so much, so I'm sure he knew and was patient because he knew that you were a kind person deep down. You were just...part of an unfortunate circumstance. But I'm glad that he helped you.

He is quite incredible. I wish I could tell him all the things that have happened here. [ He chuckles. ] He'd like you... and probably tease me a bit.

[ But what Shigeru continues to say makes Genji stop and turn back to him a moment. Then he leans in to give him a quick peck on the lips. ] And you are so kind, with everything that's happened to you as well. I'm so glad our paths crossed when they did.

[ Shigeru's face goes red as he looks away after that soft, quick, kiss. ]

I don't want all the bad things that have happened to me to...change who I am. I don't want to become bitter from them, because that never helps anyone including myself.

All I can do is put it behind me and move forward I guess. [ He smiles fondly back at Genji a soft huff escaping him. ]

You helping me through it has helped a lot too. Having someone to talk to about it, it really helps. [ Genji has seen him at his absolute worst here, he's really glad that to have his support and care. ]

[ Genji smiles and nods in agreement to that. ] That is what I realized as well. I was starting to become such a bitter and angry person before I met Zenyatta. I eventually realized that wasn't who I wanted to be.

[ He reaches for two mugs and puts them on the counter. ] Your life doesn't have to be defined by the worst thing that's happened to you.

[ And then he starts pouring the warmed cider into the mugs, looking a little bashful again at Shigeru's last statement. ] I am always more than happy to help, but do not sell yourself too short. [ Genji turns to offer him the mug, smiling tenderly in that way that makes the scars and crow's feet around his eyes tug. ] You are incredibly strong, Shigeru. And you have quite a lot to be proud of.

[ Ah. He really loves it when Genji smiles. He really wants to kiss him, but he'll refrain for now. He gives Genji a loving look though as he reaches up to lightly touch his cheek. He shakes his head though at Genji's words. ]

I'm not. But I think you made me a lot stronger then what I used to be. I don't think without your meditation or you I could have gotten through some of the things that have happened to me here.

[ Genji wants to just tug him closer by the waist and hold him close in that moment, but he manages to refrain. He swallows the urge down, almost literally, and leans into his hand. ]

I think we've both made each other stronger. I am so very glad to have met you.

[ Well they can save it for later anyway. Shigeru nods though at Genji's words. He totally gets the other and he's glad to have him in his life. ]

Do you...want to eat something? We just have to warm it up first.

[ He'll take a few sips of his cider as his phone asks that question. Now that they're getting into it Shigeru is kind nervous about Genji's gifts. He really hopes that the other man likes them. ]

Or we can open gifts, but I heard that's usually done on Christmas morning. [ Though his face might go red because that's kind of implying he's staying the night, hguhga! ]

I'd love to. [ Genji's sense of taste might be dulled, but it's obvious that the food Shigeur makes is amazing. He holds his own mug wit both hands, taking a few sips of the warm drink.

...and then smiling slowly, eyes becoming hooded at what Shigeru says. Oh no, Flirty Genji is making an appearance again. ] I think that sounds like a great idea. [ His voice is just so husky...

But he straightens his shoulders. He could whisper sweet nothings to Shigeru all day, but that would get boring quick. ] If you'd like. It looks like my roommates will be gone for the night anyway... and the dog.

[ Oh geez he said something again that was totally embarrassing, please just take his phone away. He's so flustered by Genji's voice and expression that he almost drops his phone while looking at Genji. ]

I-I didn't mean it like that. But I...I guess it came out that way!

I just want to spend a nice evening with you again. [ no wait that sounds even worse?! Oh my god. He's so red right now...

But he'll never admit that after Hygge he's been thinking and wanting to sleep with Genji again. ]

[ Never put your phone away, it just makes Genji love you even more. He chuckles and shakes his head. ] No, I know. I'm sorry, I shouldn't tease you like that so much.

[ He steps in closer and presses a little kiss to his forehead. ] But I do as well. This is the perfect way to spend Christmas.

[ ...and Genji would be lying if he said he hadn't woken up a few times since then with his vents running a little hotter than usual. But it's not something he needs or would ever demand; only if Shigeru wants. Genji is content mind, body and heart as it is. ]

[ Shigeru smiles shyly as he feels his cheeks flush with color. ]

You...you do? [ He fiddles with his phone a very apparent smile on his face as he does so. For some reason having Genji agree and wanting the same thing makes him so...excited and happy. ]

I just want it to be special.

I do. [ He puts his mug down on the counter and cups Shigeru's face, the silicone in his fingers warmed from the cider. ] And it is already more than special, having you here with me. You don't need to worry about that.

[ He's gotten so sappy in his middle age, his younger self would probably be gagging in the corner. Genji chuckles warmly. ]

But let's eat the food you made before we get too lost in ourselves, shall we? I'd hate for it to go to waste.

[ Shigeru will close his eyes as he gently puts a hand over Genji's. Ah. He really loves it when the other man touches him like this, gentle, and calm. It really makes him feel like he can do anything. But for now he'll smile and nod, going back over to where he discarded the food to take out the containers he used to transport them in.

There will be dumplings, hand made with care, along side a still hot pot of ramen as well. With that there will be one other dish, something unfamiliar to Genji as it's from Shigeru's world. But it's a platter of various seafood and meat surrounded by rice and vegetables with a light, almost soy sauce type, coating to it. ]

I hope you don't mind leftovers. Gladio and Hana can have some too.

[ It's all Genji would ever want Shigeru to feel, after all.

He picks up his mug and goes over to look at the food and smiles. ] Ramen? Mm, there's a saying in my world that's: the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

[ This unfamiliar dish looks quite good though, as Genji loves any seafood. ] And I don't think we'll have to worry about leftovers not being eaten in this house.

[ He kisses Shigeru on the cheek. ] This all looks wonderful, thank you for making it.

[ Shigeru's cheeks color a little at the kiss and the saying that he's never heard before. ]

I hope it tastes good. I've read that ramen in your world is almost like an art. I...want to try and get better at making it.

[ It was something in the culinary world that was very serious, or so he recalls from his readings. ]

Have you ever made it before?

[ That gets a little self deprecating laugh out of him. ] No... I admit, I'm not much of a cook. My family always had people cook for us. [ Spoiled rich crime boy life, as it were. ]

I probably helped keep the ramen shop across the street from us in business. [ He goes to get two bowls and a serving spoon. ]

[ Shigeru gives Genji a loving smile. ]

I can help teach you, if you want! I'd love to...cook with you. [ Shigeru please. ]

It could be really fun and you can teach me about all the different foods you've had back home.
